About WMAA Drama |
|
WMAA Drama Club started in 2015. It is an after-school extracurricular program that is open to all WMAA students regardless of experience. Drama Club is a semester long commitment where students will learn and experience improvisation and acting skills, perform monologues and group skits, create and build sets, props, and costumes, prepare and perform a full length show, and much more. There will be several different opportunities throughout the year to perform at the school and in the community.
Drama Club generally meets Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. However, please see the practice calendar for more specific dates and times. At WMAA Drama, we're all about learning and improving! Students are hands-on with every step of our practice and production experience, from student drama leaders assisting with stage directing to all hands on deck with prop building. WMAA Drama has put on numerous small performances and skits including West Side Story Parody, Mystery Night, and Improv Comedy Cafe, a collection of short skits and improv routines that engaged audience members in shaping the comedy experience. In April 2018, WMAA Drama proudly made their first on-stage debut with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. During the 2018-19 season, we presented a return of the Improv Comedy Cafe in November, and a spring production of Peter Pan! |
